People of Lake County mark your calendars… today was a Lake County day that will live in infamy.
It marks the day the contrived and controversial Wellness Way Master Plan — brainchild of Chairman Sean Parks — gets its first illegitimate-waiver induced anchor baby occupant.
It also sadly marks the beginning of a home builder onslaught that will forever destroy the rural character of southern Lake County.
Today was the day that four out of five Lake County Commissioners completely BETRAYED the overwhelming will of the people of Lake County and VOTED YES for more home builder overdevelopment.
Take a screen shot of this picture and keep it as your personal voter guide when you go to the polls next year. Parks and Campione are ready to be thrown out in 2022. We have to wait until 2024 for the other two.
The saddest story of the day is newcomer Commissioner Kirby Smith. The people of Lake County had very high hopes for him and perhaps he might have even had a chance at winning a second term — if only he had some courage to stand up to Parks and vote NO.
You would think he would have known better considering he replaced single-term Commissioner Wendy Breeden who was thrown out of office for doing the same exact thing that Kirby did today — not listening to the will of the people of Lake County. It’s sad but it now looks like Commissioner Smith will also join Breeden on the single-term pile.
The SUPERSTAR of the day was Captain “Lake County” America Commissioner and future Chairman Doug Shields. He was the ONLY faithful Commissioner to HOLD THE LINE for the people of Lake County and VOTE NO for more home builder overdevelopment.
If you’re itching to write a big campaign contribution there isn’t a more patriotic politician and better name to put on the check than Commissioner Doug Shields. My crystal ball shows he will be Chairman one day. Go ahead and send him a BIG THANK YOU for holding the line for Lake County.
The BIG QUESTION everyone is wondering is whether some of the Commissioners actually established contact with the applicant during the interim self-imposed sequester since tabling the vote on September 7th.
Was McKinnon Groves-Commissioner Collusion confirmed on September 28th?
Did Chairman Sean Parks breach a self-imposed ‘no public comment’ sequester to speak in secret with applicant Scott Boyd & McKinnon Groves regarding substantial changes that would have required public comment?
Did Bumbles-Boyd slip up and spill the beans last week?
Do you think there is a new foot-in-mouth conspiracy brewing with Parks and his buddy Boyd?
What is EXTREMELY troubling is Chairman Parks presented a number of substantial revisions to the proposed ordinance at the hearing on September 28th. Under their self-imposed black-out sequester — Chairman Parks was to have NO COMMUNICATION with the applicant, the opponents or any outside sources regarding this issue.
Yet when Chairman Parks presented redlined changes to the ordinance on the day of the hearing — the applicant didn’t blink an eye. The applicant didn’t even act surprised. Not a single objection. In fact, the applicant attorney seemed quite happy and pleased to the point where you might begin to wonder — did they have advance knowledge?
This STINKS to high heaven and lest you think I’m concocting conspiracy theories here — I would draw your attention to Bumbles-Boyd new McKinnon Groves Community Facebook page where four days prior to the hearing, he was making posts about the changes proposed by Chairman Parks.
If we are supposed to believe that Chairman Parks kept everything a “sequester secret” until September 28th, please explain how Bumbles-Boyd had advance knowledge and was able to leak it so early?
Is this the way things work in Lake County under Chairman Sean Parks — you cut off public comment and work off-record back-room deals to manufacture an approval?
I guess it worked for Wellness Way so why not run the same play again right?
It is one thing to betray the people of Lake County with your vote but it is quite another to publicly attack the people who once voted for you and falsely imply they have committed possible criminal activity in an open public forum.
I thought Parks was a smart guy?
In an open public hearing and without firsthand knowledge, Sean Parks inexplicably implied — from third party hearsay — that a representative with opponent Fox HOA, reached out to the applicant saying they would buy the southern 79 acres to develop 1 acre parcels and if the applicant sold to the opponent — they would make all the opposition go away.
Here is the actual quote from the livestream transcript. Sean Parks was visibly giddy reading from prepared notes believing he actually discovered some dirt on his opponents…
“…I think it’s important for everyone to know that the opposition told the applicant that they would buy the avalon tract — the 80 acres — and develop 1 acre lots… and get this — this is most important to point out — that they would make the opposition go away.”
Is Sean Parks actually implying an opponent quid pro quo?
I was told this statement really pissed off the wrong people (again) because it is a blatant LIE.
Why did Parks even have to go there?
What did that accomplish?
What he did was an absolute disgrace to the office of Chairman.
It is bad enough he doesn’t even hide his love-fest from the bench for big business home builders like Boyd — but to openly attack his constituents in an open public forum is just stunning.
Parks should know better than taking hearsay from a third party and reading it into the public record as fact — especially when there is the suggestion of possible criminal activity.
Not very smart Mr. Chairman.
As the real story goes, after the August 4th P&Z meeting, the applicant’s Attorney reached out to the Fox HOA Attorney about purchasing the southern 79 acre parcel from owner Bob Holston — who was apparently interested in selling after the disastrous no recommendation P&Z vote.
The TRUTH is the applicant’s Attorney Anita Geraci was the first one to reach out to the Fox HOA Attorney Brent Spain about a possible purchase. I’m told that no opponent or representative of Fox HOA reached out to the applicant directly and Chairman Parks assertion that this happened is false and defamatory.
In response to the applicant attorney suggestion of speaking with Bob Holston, I’m told Fox HOA representatives joined a zoom meeting arranged by their Attorney Brent Spain to speak with Bob Holston alone.
It was confirmed that Chairman Sean Parks WAS NOT on the zoom call and would have NO FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE of what was discussed. The only applicant representative at the meeting was Bob Holston and the representatives of the HOA were speaking in the presence of their Attorney who arranged and monitored the zoom meeting.
While I’m told the zoom call was cordial, it was not productive. Apparently Bob Holston asked for an offer to purchase his 79 acres and a verbal offer exceeding $3 million in cash was made — to which Bob Holston replied he would consider.
I’m also told that much of the call was attempting to convince developer Bob Holston to just develop the land himself — the right way — with lower density in the south. The representatives of the HOA stated to Holston that 1 to 2 acre parcels would sell for in excess of $350,000 so the economics would work and that the ONLY REASON area residents were opposed to the development was because of the proposed high density.
The HOA representatives stated to Bob Holston that if HE DEVELOPED the land with lower density 1–2 acre parcels, he would have virtually no opposition. It was confirmed this is what was actually said to Bob Holston and that what Chairman Parks read into the record as FACT is a complete FABRICATION.
And as if this wasn’t bad enough, Sean Parks continued his rant, openly attacking all of his opponents across social media in an open public hearing — on the record — accusing their first amendment protected right to freedom of speech as being “atrocious, libelous and slanderous”.
Perhaps Parks should pony up and take a constitutional law refresher class or hire a proper defamation attorney to consult him on why he is wrong.
Politicians are considered public figures and the “PUBLIC” has a right to its opinion — even if Mr. Parks doesn’t agree with it.
Parks is holding himself out in the public as a political representative of the people and political speech is the freedom to DISAGREE loudly and publicly with the beliefs and decisions of political figures.
This is a RIGHT vehemently defended by the First Amendment.
Of all people — I would think you should know this Monsier Parks.
So, if all the cartoons are getting to you — too bad.
If you don’t like your Wellness Way baby being portrayed as a pirate ship that is plundering the beautiful rural lands of southern Lake County for money — too bad.

My advice to anyone who can’t handle a political cartoon is to man up and grow a set — and that includes Ms. Campione.
Chairman Parks whines about how this affects “his family” and I hear he is now making up fake news stories about opponents spoofing his daughter’s email and other CoNsPiRaCy theories about mystery developers funding the opposition ad nauseam.
Holy cow batman.
Does repeating this nonsensical mantra madness actually make you feel better?
Did you ever stop to think that the opposition might actually be coming from real people — mostly Republicans — who once voted for you?
Did you ever stop to think about the tens of thousands of FAMILIES in south Lake County whose rural lifestyle is being uprooted and assaulted by politicians and homebuilders for profit?
Did you ever stop to think about how THEY FEEL when you don’t listen to them?
Did you ever stop to think about all the families of animals that will be displaced by your Wellness Way McKinnon Groves housing hellscape madness?
So, let’s stop the cry baby — crocodile tears about what a cartoon does to your family. Whatever your family is going through — it is because of YOU and NOT a cartoon.
YOU made the decision to become a public figure and YOU made the decision to betray the people of Lake County with your YES vote on McKinnon Groves.
While cartoons and commentary might appear to be humiliating, shaming or offensive — they are only cartoons. While they might be embarrassing — they are not designed to be malicious and do not impede a politician from doing their job.
So, rather than digging yourself into an even deeper hole and alienating even more voters by insulting them with frivolous accusations of libel and slander — I might suggest that you DO YOUR JOB and actually try LISTENING to the people who elected you and focus on fixing the problems and issues being satirized.
Maybe then it will all stop.
But for now it will continue… and it’s not going to end well for the four YES VOTES.
Bumble-Boyd’s prediction of a “few weeks” was way off. With your YES votes today — we’re now playing for blood.
Today — the four of you all sealed your fate and this will not stop until every single YES VOTE on McKinnon Groves is thrown out of office.
You were warned but you failed to decode the comms.
All of this will continue through 2022 until both Parks and Campione are gone and through 2024 until Blake and Smith are replaced.
You can smile and laugh all you want about how safe you might feel in red republican Lake County — but none of you will be reelected.
NONE OF YOU.
That is a given.
You have absolutely no idea who you pissed off and the multi-media power you are now up against.
Everything that was paused until the final vote — is now in motion and will continue until Parks, Campione, Blake and Smith are all gone.
Let me paint a bit of a picture of the pandora’s box you just opened with your YES votes…
I hear a public gofundme campaign is now launching and a proper political action committee is being formed because there is so much money being pledged.
A social media campaign will begin shortly to rally the people of Lake County and raise obscene amounts of money to fund a prolonged appeal as well as entertain the possibility of parallel lawsuits to dig a bit deeper into McKinnon Groves, Wellness Way and everything else that has been going on in Lake County under your watch.
The top social media marketing master in the country who specializes in Facebook marketing for politicians, just happens to live in the same area and is going to be hired to run all of the Facebook campaigns.
Translation: enjoy your remaining time in office.
Don’t be angry at the large group of opponents to McKinnon Groves and the tens of thousands of voters throughout Lake County who are opposed to more home builder overdevelopment. They all tried to warn you with their social media response but you wouldn’t listen.
Let me just end with a message to all of the good old boy republicans that control Lake County and support Parks.
There is a rumor now going around started by a little birdy that some country bumpkin operative goons are going to try to intimidate area opponents into silence in order to save their boy Parks.
Not sure if Parks is calling in some muscle favors from his 14 Wellness Way families so, I will just warn you all once again.
It would be a MONUMENTAL political and personal disaster of EPIC proportions to attempt to intimidate those opposing McKinnon Groves.
Trust me… this is NOT a resource you want on the other side working against you in politics — or anything else.
My advice — if you have hope of retaining any semblance of political power in Lake County in the future, you would be smart to raise the white flag now and request a powwow to make peace with the well-funded multi-media powerhouse that can make you or break you.
An army is being assembled and you are welcome to hop onboard.
But unfortunately, your boy Parks and sidekick Campione are toast in 2022.
There is no saving them — so I might suggest you save your powder and don’t be foolish and try.
In the coming months, there will be more money, more angry voters, more Facebook ads and more heat than you’ve ever seen in your wildest Lake County country hallucinations… and it all could have been avoided.
All everyone wanted was to be left alone in the quiet, peaceful country with low density.
But you come into our backyard and hand us a high-density 55+ shit sandwich and expect us to smile and do nothing?
You all drew first blood and so now understand there are political consequences.
There is a reckoning coming…
Better figure out fast where your Lake County political bread is best buttered.
